Dearest Sugar Bit Friends and Fans,
Bittersweet… the only word I can use to describe it. A dream that began after the birth of my very first baby Caroline and came to fruition once our second little love Carson came into the world is now coming to an end.
At the end of this summer, we will be retiring our sweet Sugar Bit and will be closing our doors.
It's somewhat sentimental to think about sharing all of this, but so many of you have been there from day one, so it’s only fitting that I am having a personal declaration like this. As for what has impacted my decision to close up shop, it’s been filled with many months of prayers and loads of deep talks with Jeff in how I knew it was time to bid adieu to this shop of mine and I am SO happy for what's to come.
It has been an absolutely AMAZING experience, and I wouldn't trade the past five years for ANYTHING in the world... from traveling pop-up shops to getting published in industry magazines to holiday shopping markets, end of season sales and more, it's been incredibly fulfilling in every single way. It warms my heart to think that we have been with your families through baby showers, births, baptisms, birthdays, vacations, celebrations and more. I will always remember the fact that SO MANY of you have been incredible cheerleaders and supporters from the very beginning.
Having said that, I've also faced a great deal of entrepreneurial challenges from sales reps and copycats to always being "open" with an e-commerce shop [because it’s a 24/7 job in addition to being a wife, mom, friend and blogger], and that's why I believe it's the right time to walk away, while cherishing this season in life and having learned so much from this experience.
More than anything, I can look back without any doubts and say, “I DID IT”. I was my own boss, I ran a business single-handedly, and I’ve been able to meet some incredible people along the way. I am thankful my girls got to see me work my tail off to make something happen—and how they always pitched in, even Jeff. They let me run with my dream, and for that I am grateful, and now I get to take some of that time and devote even more quality time to them… in school and at home.
In addition, for those of you that follow me personally, I will be putting full focus into my life and style blog, Hello Happiness, as well as taking on additional responsibilities with fundraising at Caroline and Carson's elementary school. I am hopeful this will allow me to have a better balance between work and family time, and not run two businesses as well as try to be a good mom [I ALWAYS say family first, and that sentiment will never change].
With that being said, today begins our Sugar Bit Retirement Sale, which includes a site-wide sale with everything being marked 40% off [including ALL gifts and accessories, while swimwear is now 60% off].
You've been there with me throughout this journey, and I am thankful for your kindness, amazing support and love, wisdom, guidance and more... love you all lots and excited for what's next in our world.
